After Day One...

Well the first day has come and gone... and it was GREAT!!! I have a precious group of kids and just want to bring them home with me!! I can already tell they are so smart and that we are going to have a wonderful year. I know that we are going to share lots of smiles and adventures and I can't wait to get going!

First Day Jitters

Well it's only hours away!! I can't believe the first day of school is already here! I have met some of my sweet kiddos and can't wait to meet the rest tomorrow. I know this is going to be a great year!

Teacher Work Week

Well it's all coming together! This past week I spent everyday in meetings and working in my classroom to get it ready for the kiddos on Monday. It's a good thing the school was open until 8pm every night becuase I took advantage! You can look at going into a new room in two ways... 1- it's a clean slate and you get to decorate however you want...2- it's a clean slate and you have no idea what you want to do with it! I was right in the middle. I had lots of ideas, but being at a school that impliments a CCC rubric (which has to do with using muted colors, lots of lamps, pictures of yourself, and no clutter) I was stuck trying to make my ideas work with the rubric. I am very pleased with the way the room looks and have had lots of help to get it that way. I met some of my kids at Meet the Teacher night on Wednesday and I can't wait to get this year started!

It's Almost Here...

Well here we are, the end of summer! School is just right around the corner and I can't wait! I have decided on the beach theme and Allie had a great idea that I'm going to "borrow" ;) for outside our door. I'm in the process of learning my way around the school and meeting new teachers. I will get my class list and schedule tomorrow and am so excited to meet my new crew!! My first two years teaching I looped from 1st grade to 2nd so I have only had one group of students. I am so excited to meet my second group because I know they will be just as great!
